Jess Cummings

 Jess Cummings is a Canadian-born choreographer, dance and yoga instructor and strength & conditioning coach. After obtaining her master’s degree in human kinetics from Laurentian University, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue her professional dance and choreography career.  

Career highlights include being featured in commercials for JBL Audio and Mountain Dew, film The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part, and working with artists Kiesza, Cold War Kids, and Nytrix. She’s also had the opportunity to work as an assistant choreographer on Disney’s Raven’s Home, RuPaul’s Werq the World Tour, Canada’s Drag Race Season 2 Tour, and with band Now United. As a choreographer, she’s worked on projects for Rudy’s Barbershop and RuPaul’s Drag Race competitors; Lady Camden (music video ‘Dirtiest Secrets’), Bosco (The Marvelous Miss Gender Tour), and Plastique Tiara (RuPaul’s Drag Race: All Stars 9). As a dance instructor, Jess has taught across Canada, the US, and internationally, including at the world-renowned Millennium Dance Complex in Los Angeles, Shanghai, and Beijing.

Jess has since expanded her movement practice by completing her Yoga Teacher Training with Modo Yoga, where she currently teaches, her personal training certification with Canfitpro and her strength & conditioning certification through Exos. Rather than seeing herself as a “jack of all trades,” Jess considers herself a master of movement and education and believes these disciplines provide complementary lenses through which we can understand human movement, physical adaptation, and performance. She continues to explore how biomechanics, strength development, and movement quality influence the way we perform, adapt, and ultimately move through the world as elite athletes, dancers, and humans.
