Jess Cummings

Jess Cummings is a choreographer, professional dancer, and dance instructor from Montreal, Canada. After completing her Master’s Degree in Human Kinetics at the age of 26, Jess felt there was something missing in her life. She knew that the only thing that could fill that void was dance. So, she made the decision to apply for her 0-1 visa and move to Los Angeles to pursue her professional career and found herself to be fulfilled in a way she could never have imagined.

Prior to moving to the US, Jess danced professionally in Canada and one of her most memorable experiences came from working with former Cirque du Soleil director and Emmy Award winning choreographer Deborah Brown in the Line 1 Tour. In the summer of 2015, Jess was selected amongst thousands of dancers to take part in the esteemed Monsters of Hip Hop Show in Los Angeles, California where she performed the choreography of some of the industry's leading choreographers. Following the MOHH Show, Jess moved to Los Angeles full time and some career highlights during her time there include being featured in commercials for JBL Audio, Mountain Dew and Rudy’s Barbershop, dancing in the feature film LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part, working with artists; Kiesza, Cold War Kids, Nytrix, Lele Pons, Neon Hitch and performing on stage at some of the largest events in the nation including VidCon, We Day and the FXFS Festival Fashion Show in Las Vegas.

Jess has always been a creator at heart, so it wasn’t long before she decided to put her creativity to the test and delve into the world of choreography. Jess has had the opportunity to work on the choreography team assisting Ryan Grainger in the creation of Ru Paul’s: Werq the World Tour in both 2022 and 2023, and Canada’s Drag Race Season 2 Tour.  She then went on to choreograph a music video titled ‘Dirtiest Secrets’ for world renowned drag queen Lady Camden. Jess also assisted WilldaBeast Adams and Janelle Ginestra on a musical episode of Disney’s Raven’s Home, and with pop band Now United produced by Simon Fuller on their World Promo Tour and music video ‘All Day’ and ‘How We Do It.’ In addition to her love of performing and choreographing, Jess also loves sharing with the dance community as an instructor. She has had the opportunity to teach at various studios throughout Canada, the United States and across the globe, including world-renowned studio Millennium Dance Complex in Los Angeles, Shanghai and Beijing. Jess continuously strives to share her knowledge and passion with up-and-coming dancers in hopes that she can help them find the same fulfilment she has experienced through the beautiful world of dance.
